Description of Event
Liberty University's annual 2,000 person Father and Son weekend was a pivotal, two day event focused on building relationships through wholesome, faith centered programming. Dixie Bones delivered two high-volume, quality meals, a Saturday night BBQ and a Sunday lunch to 2,000 participants efficiently enough to maintain the event’s tight, relationship building schedule. The success of the gathering depended on our team’s effort to efficiently manage logistics so as not to compromise the spirit of the event.
Dixie Bones delivered for the signature Saturday night BBQ authentic, slow-cooked flavor by arriving on Friday to cook the pork butts overnight in our mobile pit. On Saturday, we smoked the chicken on-site and paired the fresh, smoky meats with potato salad, baked beans, and buns. To serve the enormous crowd in record time, we strategically deployed six double-sided buffet lines. For the Sunday closing lunch, we prepared and brought 2,000 ham sandwiches from Woodbridge, ensuring a simple, fast final service.
The optimized setup allowed Dixie Bones to move all 2,000 Father and Son attendees through the serving lines and seated within an exceptional thirty minutes, ensuring zero disruption to the weekend's itinerary.
Dixie Bones excels at managing complex, high-volume catering needs for clients like Liberty University, delivering speed and quality simultaneously.
